I would recommend Louisville....larger population, more conventions etc. Had a client who used to run escort services there who informed me that three or four major "events" in the 'Ville made her year....obviously, Derby week and (much to my surprised) the Farm Machinery Show lol!
Also, if you stay in an East End hotel, you'll be less than an hour's drive from Lexington and/or Frankfort....just my 2 cents. PM me if you'd like more details.
Lexington. That pond has been drying up for a long time and the hobbyists there are looking for a big catch in a relatively talentless town. You would take it by storm, test the waters!
